Program Description
The English-taught Master of Engineering (M.E.) in Computer Science and Technology program extensively enrolls and cultivates worldwide master’s degree students under the primary discipline Computer Science and Technology, including the three sub-disciplines of Computer Software and Theory, Computer Application Technology and System Structure.
Educational Objectives
The English-taught Computer Science and Technology program is dedicated to cultivate internationalized talents with good scientific literacy, and having a systematic and good grasp of the basic theories, knowledge and skills of computer science and technology including hardware, software and their practical use.
Study Duration, Credits and Degree Awarding
In line with the Chinese university system, Masters degrees in Donghua University last for two years and a half and the school starts from fall. A typical workload of the first year full-time study is a set of courses worth a total of 34 credits, composed of 22 compulsory and 12 elective credits. From the second year, students will undertake a research project and write a dissertation. Students who are academically qualified, successfully fulfill 34 credits within designated years, accomplish the dissertation, pass the thesis defense and finally be approved by Donghua University Academic Degree Evaluation Committee will be awarded Master Degree in Engineering of Donghua University.

An applicant shall submit a valid Certificate of Non-Criminal Record (or Police Clearance Certificate) issued by the local public security or government authority (such as the police station). The issue date shall be after November 1, 2025.
*2. Statement of Financial Support
Fill the blanks and sign by the applicant and the sponsor. Even for the application of study with the entrance scholarships, the applicant must sign the Statement of financial support to ensure that the applicant can bear any other expenses beyond the scope of scholarship funding. The signed date shall be after November 1, 2025.

(1) Written in the teaching language of the applied DHU program.

(3) Educational background: starting from high school, listed in reverse chronological order (most recent first), with dates precise to the month.
(4) Work or internship experience (if any): listed in reverse chronological order, with dates precise to the month:
①Must provide employment or internship certificates corresponding to the listed experiences, issued by the employer (company/institution/university), signed and stamped.
②The certificate content must include position held, job responsibilities, start and end dates (precise to month), job performance, and contact person & information of the employer.
(5) List relevant experiences up to the application submission date. There should be no unexplained gaps in the timeline. Even if there was no study or work during a period, state the actual situation.
(6) Others (if any): research projects participated in or important conferences attended, description of achievements, publications (include paper abstract), professional qualifications and skill certificates, awards and honors received. Supervision Intention Letter (SIL) signed by a Donghua University (DHU) supervisor is required as one of the application materials for most of the Master's degree program applications at DHU. Here we offer some tips on contacting your prospective supervisors to complete your postgraduate application more smoothly.

If the professor has the intention to be your future supervisor, you should download the Supervision Intention Letter (SIL)-M 2026.pdf, fill it out, and sign it. Then give it to the professor for his/her signature. The date of the professor's signature should be after November 1st, 2025.*6. Chinese language credential
*7. ID photo
Recent bareheaded (within six months), full-face, white-color background, two-inch certificate photo, instead of landscape photos or photos of daily life; in JPG format, less than 100K.
*8. Passport (and visa) page
A clear copy of your valid passport with your name, photo, date of birth, place of birth, date of issue and date of expiry.
An ordinary passport with the expiry date later than February 1, 2027. Do not change your passport between the start of your application and enrollment (if admitted).
All visa pages are required if you have been to or if you are currently in China.*9. Bachelor's Transcripts
Copies of the original transcripts with the university stamp and/or the signature of the principal. If the originals are not in Chinese or English, they must be translated and notarized.
Students who are currently in the final year can submit a pending certificate along with transcripts of all grades you completed. You are required to submit the official certificate and final transcripts once you receive them.*10. Bachelor's Degree Certificate

(1) Written in English or Chinese, provided by two different referees familiar with your personal qualities, comprehensive abilities, and academic potential.
① At least one must be from an academic referee, typically a professor, associate professor, or lecturer whose course you have taken or under whom you have completed a research project (e.g., thesis, research assistantship), evaluating your course performance, academic ability, research potential, personal qualities, or achievements.
② If you have work experience, the other can be from your direct supervisor or project leader, evaluating your professional abilities and personal performance.
(2) The recommendation letter must include the referee's name, work unit and department, position, handwritten signature, and contact information (email must be provided).
(3) The recommendation letter must indicate the date signed by the referee, which should be on or after September 1, 2024.*12. Research proposal
(1) Written in the teaching language of the applied DHU program.
(2) Content should include both a Research Plan and a Study Plan to demonstrate academic quality, research potential, and alignment with DHU's disciplines, faculty, and research resources.
(3) The Research Plan should clearly elaborate on what you plan to research during the Master's program, why it is worth researching, and how you will conduct the research. Specific content includes research topic, objectives, background, literature review, current research status, methodology, expected outcomes, references, etc.
(4) The Study Plan should outline your study plan for the Master's program, including how you will utilize time and resources to achieve academic and future career goals. Specific content includes academic background and research interests, learning objectives, research preparation and progression plan, future career planning, and specifically explains why you chose DHU, this specific program, and your prospective supervisor (if you have obtained a Supervision Intention Letter).13. Mandatory for Design Major Applications
1. Applicants for the Chinese-taught design major must upload a portfolio of recent original artwork online, including at least two hand-drawn pencil sketches, two hand-drawn color paintings, and a design portfolio related to the applied program direction.
2. If notified by Donghua University via email to participate in an art examination or related interview (latest by June), applicants should respond and participate as scheduled. The results will serve as an important reference for the university's decision.Tips:
For applicants who are in China: If you are an employee, you still need to provide employment separation certificate and your current residence permit.
