Start from higher level

The admitted beginners start from the first semester while the non-beginners are possible to start from a higher level if they meet the requirements and submit the relevant documents (see below Application Materials) .

Program Features

Who can start from a higher grade?

1.Having studies for at least one year in a Chinese higher education institute or an overseas institute recognized by Ministry of Education of China.
2.Passed the High-grade-transfer exam at the registration recognized by Internation Cultural Exchange School (ICES).

Which grade should I study?

The placement is based on the result of the exam and the students\' HSK level

1. Applicants under the age of 18 should submit a Guarantee Statement filled and signed by the legal adult guardians living in mainland China.

*2. Certificate of no criminal conviction
An applicant shall submit a valid Certificate of Non-Criminal Record (or Police Clearance Certificate) issued by the local public security or government authority (such as the police station). The issue date shall be after November 1, 2024.
*3. Statement of financial support
Fill the blanks and sign by the applicant and the sponsor. Even for the application of study with the entrance scholarships, the applicant must sign the Statement of financial support to ensure that the applicant can bear any other expenses beyond the scope of scholarship funding. *4. Curriculum Vitae
Written in the teaching language of the program you apply for. In addition to basic personal information and contact information, list one's educational background (from junior high school), work or internship experience (if any) in chronological order (accurate to month), from the present to the past. No gaps in time, even if you did not study or work during a certain period of time, list the actual situation.
If any work experience, attach a signed or stamped proof of employment issued by the company or organization, which include the applicant's job title, work content, employment duration (accurate to month), performance, and contact details.
5. Others
If you are applying for a Chinese-taught program in Fashion & Apparel Design, Product Design, Environmental Design, Visual Communication Design, Digital Media Art, or Art & Technology, you are required to submit the original latest art works: at least one hand-painted pencil sketch, one hand-painted color painting, and one design rendering relating to the proposed program.

A clear copy of your valid passport with your name, photo, date of birth, place of birth, date of issue and date of expiry. The passport should have at least 6-month validity.
All visa pages are required if you have been to or if you are currently in China.
*9. ID photo
Recent bareheaded (within six months), full-face, white-color background, two-inch certificate photo, instead of landscape photos or photos of daily life; in JPG format, less than 100K.
*10. Personal statement
A statement of purpose in essay format written in the teaching language of the program you apply for, within 1000 words.
Describe one's educational and family background, motivation for applying, reasons for major choice and study plan, activity participation, awards, and interests in order to demonstrate one's personal thoughts, capacities and strengths.
Name, the field of study, e-mail address, and written time should be included in the end of statement.
11. The following applicants should provide the passports, all the visa pages, exit and entry stamp pages on the passport, proof of naturalization, or evidence of being foreign citizens at birth.
Applicants born in the mainland China, HK, TW, MC, who have obtained a foreign nationality.
Applicants who acquired a foreign nationality at the time of birth, and whose parents (either or both) hold Chinese nationality and reside abroad.
Applicants who have spent (part of) their secondary education in the mainland China, HK, TW, MC.
*12. High school academic transcripts
Copies of the original certificate with the high school stamp and/or the signature of the principal. If the originals are not in Chinese or English, they must be translated and notarized.
Students who are currently in the final year can submit a pending certificate along with transcripts of all grades you completed. You are required to submit the official certificate and final transcripts once you receive them.
*13. High school graduation certificate
Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or Copies of the original certificate with the high school stamp and/or the signature of the principal. If the original is not in Chinese or English, it must be translated and notarized.
Students who are currently in the final year can submit a pending certificate along with transcripts of all grades you completed. You are required to submit the official certificate and final transcripts once you receive them.
*14. CSCA Test Transcript(s)
-You need to take the official CSCA test organized by the Chinese government and submit the corresponding subject result transcript(s) when applying. Learn more about the CSCA test >>
-The test covers Chinese (Humanities and STEM Chinese), Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Mathematics is required for all programs, while other subjects depend on the university’s specific requirements.

Tips: For applicants who are in China: If you are an employee, you still need to provide employment separation certificate and your current residence permit.
