By adapting a teaching philosophy of experiential learning, we, at CIP, incorporate practical activities with a theoretical foundation to support and solidify your knowledge. We strive to ensure that you have the opportunities to become one of the most valuable players in the business world by teaching you skills and knowledge of an exceptional standard.

• International Forum

One of the implementations is the monthly seminars named International Forum, where we invite speakers to share their experiences and knowledge about the business in contemporary global environment with you. It also provides students opportunities to interact with some of the successful and influential people in the business world.
Examples of past speakers include Vice Minister of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation of The Netherlands, French economist Michael Aglietta, managers from Top500 companies, such as General Motor, Fedex, Coca-Cola, and Schindler, and consul general of Shanghai from Canada, Spain, Brazil, and Israel.

• Immersion Week

You also have the opportunities to put your theoretical foundations into practices, learn useful skills for the future career, and gain first-hand experience during the immersion week in the middle of every semester. Field trips to companies in different industries, workshops on different practical skills, research projects, competitions, culture visits, and other formats of activities aim to let you have opportunities to prepare yourself for the cruel business world in the future.  

Insights on China & Emergency Market

Many students come to China with a Chinese dream. The experiences of the graduates teach us that the keys to the success of Chinese dreams are to grasp basic Chinese language and understand Chinese culture, society and economy. In this case, we design the program to help you get insights into the Chinese market, increase your
Chinese market sensitivity, and grasp the opportunities in China by offering subjects, such as Chinese language, culture, philosophy, society, business codes, and business etiquette, all of which will be covered to your competitive advantages.

Global Learning Environment

We have students from around 140 countries with a good distribution in continents studying in the university, our dedicated faculty members are world citizens with a good mix of the eastern and western academics, who can bring you a wealth of knowledge and perspectives from different nations into the classroom, and we provide courses discussing different markets in addition to China.

Service Learning Nurturing Model

Service Learning is a new education model popular in western countries. It is a method of teaching that combines classroom instruction with meaningful community service. It emphasizes critical thinking and personal reflection while encouraging a heightened sense of community, civic engagement, and personal responsibility (Wikipedia). We adapted this latest education model for you to gain more insights of Chinese society as well as increase you sense of social responsibility as a future businessman/businesswoman.
We combined community service with business projects, offering events such as ”Marketing projects for Social Enterprise of Chi Heng Foundation”, aim to enhance students’ understanding of social responsibilities as well as business skills.

Innovation orientation

Innovation, defined by Wikipedia, “is the application of better solutions that meet new requirements, unarticulated needs, or existing market needs”. We believe that future businessmen/businesswomen should be innovative to be successful. With such belief, we design the program to teach you to be more creative from different aspects.
We cooperated with the Science of the Time (scienceofthetime.com), one of the first and most reputed trend research and innovation agencies in the world. We offer a course on innovation.  We encourage and guide students to be creative in running the student association. All in all is for the purpose to increase your competitive advantage when you step into the job market.

CIP offers four-year rigorous and practical education through lectures, expert seminars, and team-based student projects in eight semesters.

• Students can finish the program in minimum 3 years with good study planning. The maximum study length is 6 years.
• Students with good Chinese language skills before the start of the program are qualified to apply for the exemption of Chinese language courses up to 28 credits.
• Qualified students will have opportunities to study as an exchange student in our partner universities in another country for a semester (except for the first year and last semester in the program).
• Students with valid HSK level 4 certificate and GPA above 3 are qualified to apply for minor in Chinese language in the first year of study.

Program Requirements

Students are required to meet following requirements to graduate:

• Complete about 155 credits, including required courses, elective courses, thesis, community service, graduate internship and other practicum in 3-6 years.   
  • Pass all the required courses and the GPA for all the required courses is above 1.7
  • Submit graduation thesis and pass the thesis defense
  • Attend minimum15 seminars and 15 immersion week activities
  • Have minimum 90 hours of community service
  • Have minimum 1 month of graduation internship in an organization in the last academic year, and the evaluation is above average
  • Other practicum requirements
• Receive HSK level 4 certificate within 2 years before graduation (HSK is the official Chinese language proficiency test)
• No undue payment to the university
• No violation of Chinese law and regulation and no disciplinary action on file

Conditional Admission:

Applicants with IELTS below 5.5 or equivalent may be admitted conditionally and required to study in CIP Preparation Program until one’s English proficiency reaches entrance standard.  

Transfer Students: 

Only students who have been studying in a university in the similar major for more than one semester can apply for credits transfer. The official transcritps, the syllabus of the courses or other associated documents are required. CIP reserves the right to make final decision on credit transfer. Maximum of 30 credits can be transferred.

SCHOLARSHIP

We offer Outstanding CIP Student Scholarship to encourage current students to study harder and realize their full potential.

Who : Have studied in CIP for at least one academic year

    Showed good motivation of study, working hard and perform well in academic study with minimum GPA of 3.5
    Actively participated in various kinds of community services and extracurricular activities

What: Instead of paying in cash, a tuition waiver coupon and scholarship certificate will be issued.

    1st class award winner receives CNY 6000 tuition waiver of the tuition of the following semester
    2nd class award winner receives CNY 4000 tuition waiver of the tuition of the following semester
    3rd class award winner receives CNY 2000 tuition waiver for the tuition of the following semester

1. Non-Chinese citizens with a valid ordinary foreign passport, in good physical and mental health.

2. Sufficient financial resources; no criminal record.

3. Applicants who meet the following conditions are eligible to apply as international students:

(1) Applicants who emigrated from mainland China, Hongkong, Taiwan or Macao, and have obtained a foreign nationality.

(2) Applicants who acquired a foreign nationality at the time of birth, and whose parents (either or both) hold Chinese nationality (nationalities) and reside abroad.

 --- International applicants in the above situation must fulfill both two conditions following:

 ①  Applicants must have held a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (inclusive), which means having acquired a foreign nationality before May 1, 2022.

 ②  Applicants must have lived outside mainland China/Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan for at least two years during the period from May 1, 2022 to April 30, 2026 (according to the entry and exit record, if the applicant has stayed outside mainland China/Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan for nine months or longer period during one year, it is equivalent to one year).

4. Age Requirements:

Self-funded applicants: be at least 16 years old and under the age of 35.

5. Educational Background: have obtained a graduation certificate of higher secondary school, or its international equivalent, qualified for university entrance.

6. Language Proficiency:

For Chinese-taught programs: a minimum HSK Level 4 Certificate (score ≥180) & provide HSKK score.

Important Note: To enroll in an undergraduate program at Donghua University, applicants must possess genuine Chinese proficiency equivalent to HSK Level 5 (with a minimum score of 180) or higher. Higher scores are strongly preferred. An HSK Level 4 score (above 180) or an HSK Level 5 score (below 180) can only be used for application purposes and is only valid during the application stage. If a conditional offer is received, a newly obtained HSK Level 5 certificate (with a score above 180) must be submitted to the university before the enrollment & registration. Failure to do so will result in the inability to register and commence undergraduate studies.

① The test date on the certificate must be on or after September 1, 2024.

② Applicants whose higher secondary school curriculum and teaching-related activities were conducted entirely in Chinese may be exempted from submitting an HSK certificate. However, a certificate issued and officially stamped/signed by the school confirming that all courses and teaching activities were conducted entirely in Chinese must be provided.

③ Applicants who graduated from a full Chinese-medium high school program before September 1, 2024, must submit the required HSK certificate and HSKK score report as specified above.

7. CSCA Score Report (China Scholastic Competency Assessment)

For Chinese-taught Programs: Mandatory subjects are Professional Chinese (Humanities) or Professional Chinese (STEM), as well as Mathematics. Other required subjects should be checked here.
